Wayne County's New Me
Welcome
The Wayne County Department of Health and Human Services is developing a three year initiative to combat the obesity epidemic that threatens the health and well-being of Wayne County residents.
New-Me is that Initiative, and through its many components aims to engage communities, families and individuals into embracing healthy lifestyles through a nutrition exercise weight management effort.
As a core component to a healthy lifestyle, New-Me walking clubs are being organized throughout the county. Everyone can get fit by starting a mild regimen of regular walking. We welcome you to join us in this effort.

Wayne County will initiate several walking groups beginning April 1, 2011. To learn more about joining a group, or starting your own walking club, click on the “Why Walk” link.
There’s more! You can earn a Presidential Lifestyle Award by walking and logging into the new-me website to track your progress under your group name. New-Me will have lots of components as it grows, so keep coming back to learn more, and receive information about activities and programs that help support a healthy lifestyle.
